Storage4Gaming: Disclosures & Privacy Policy
Transparency is the core of Storage4Gaming. We are committed to honest hardware recommendations, accurate data estimation, and protecting your privacy. This page outlines how our calculator works, our hardware recommendation logic, and how we handle data.
Part 1: Hardware Recommendation & Estimation Logic
1. The 20% Storage Buffer
The storage capacity recommended by our calculator is not just a direct sum of base game files. We apply an automatic 20% buffer to all storage calculations.
- Why? This accounts for operating system overhead (Windows 11 requires ~64GB), background applications, SSD formatting variations (decimal vs. binary logic), and future game updates or DLCs.
2. Apple Silicon Hardware Realities
If you are generating recommendations for a Mac, please note:
- Soldered Components: On modern Apple Silicon Macs, the RAM and SSD are soldered to the logic board and cannot be upgraded after purchase. Ensure your chosen configuration meets your long-term needs.
- Unified Memory: Mac memory is shared between the CPU and GPU. High-graphical gaming tasks may require more system RAM than a similar Windows-based PC.
3. Component Speeds and Compatibility
We recommend high-speed DDR4/DDR5 RAM and PCIe Gen4/Gen5 NVMe SSDs based on modern gaming requirements. However, maximum speeds are contingent on your specific motherboard. You are responsible for verifying that your system supports the specific generation and form factor of the recommended hardware.
4. US Market Selection
Our recommended retailers and specific component models are selected based on availability, reliability, and competitive pricing within the United States. International users should verify local stock and compatibility.
Part 2: Privacy Policy & Affiliate Disclosures
1. Affiliate Disclosures
- No Affiliates: All links to retailers are direct and non-affiliate. We earn $0 from your purchases.
- No Tracking: This site does not use cookies, pixels, or trackers. We don't want your data; we just want to help you build a PC.
- Our Commitment: Our hardware recommendations are generated dynamically based strictly on the technical requirements of the games and applications you select.
2. Data Collection & Cookies
Storage4Gaming is designed to be a functional, privacy-first tool.
- No Marketing Cookies: We do not use tracking pixels, affiliate cookies, or third-party analytics (like Google Analytics). Your browsing behavior is yours alone.
- Security Features: We use standard, built-in security features (such as Django CSRF tokens) to protect your session and prevent unauthorized form submissions. These do not track personal data.
- Server Logs: Like almost all web servers, our host automatically collects basic access logs (IP addresses and timestamps) strictly for security monitoring and load balancing.
3. Community Submissions
If you use our submission tool to request a new game or application, the data you enter (Game Title, Storage Requirements, etc.) is stored in our database for review. We do not require or publicly display personal identifiers with these submissions.
